Hello Como!

My name is Brandon Piekarski and I will be one of the new interns helping out at the SECIA office over the summer. I just finished my junior year at the University of Minnesota and will be graduating in December. I'm majoring in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management (ESPM) with an emphasis on Policy, Planning, Law, and Society (PPLS) and a minor in sustainable agriculture. After graduating I would really like to work in the environmental policy realm within Minnesota. I grew up in northern Minnesota surrounded by wilderness and have an appreciation for all things wild. I have been enjoying my time in the Twin Cities and appreciate the metro area's commitment to greens spaces and parks. I'm currently working a student job on the University's campus and like to do some running and reading in my free time. I have been living in the Como neighborhood since the beginning of the Fall 2012 school year and am excited to get more involved with the community! I will be helping out at the SECIA office and digging in to the Como Corner garden over the summer. Stop by Como Corner on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month between 6:30pm-sundown to meet me!
