SECIA got an update this week from City of Minneapolis Public Works about the ongoing storm sewer project at 12th and E. Hennepin. The work has been a very challenging to all of the contractors that have had a part. The soil conditions, especially the large cobbles and boulders, as well as the heavy water infiltration, has forced them to change methods and incur delays. As it looks currently, construction activity will likely be on-site through mid-August.
The city says:
"We know this has inconvenienced the neighbors with the construction, noise, detours and the loss of the community gardening season. We are on a very tight site for the large equipment necessary to build this and are trying to keep the disruption to a minimum. We appreciate the neighborhood’s patience with us and hope they understand the importance of the work. Thanks."–Joe
