Metro Blooms returns with popular raingarden workshops for spring and summer. Various locations throughout Hennepin County will be hosting the workshops from April through June. Upcoming dates and locations include:

·        Thursday, May 5, 6:30-8:30 PM at Nokomis Community Center, 4885 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis
·        Saturday, June 4, 10 AM-Noon at Phelps Park, 701 East 39th Street, Minneapolis

At the workshops, participants will learn how to use native plants in your garden landscape, limit fertilizers and pesticides without compromising a beautiful yard, capture rainwater on site with rain gardens and reduce turf grass.

The registration fee for each workshop is $10.  Hennepin County Environmental Services and Metro Blooms offer a limited number of native plant grants (up to $75) for workshop attendees who purchase Minnesota native plants for their raingardens.
