MIMO makes better homes and gardens

As the first of (hopefully) many MIMO events comes to a close, we are happy to say it was a success. With the help of over 500 shoppers and droppers we diverted 4,077 pounds, that's right, TWO TONS of waste! The great part was watching items seamlessly circulate from one home to another. Some items even contributed to the beautification of our very own Como Gardens!

We are proud, not only of the items we saved from the dangers of bed bugs, rain and incinerator flames, but also of the relationships that were built during the event. We had an amazing volunteer base that included student neighborhood liaisons, residents and restorative justice volunteers all working to preserve the health of Como. We want to thank everyone that participated in the event.

Though MIMO is taking a break until August we hope that your reuse practices do not. We encourage you to keep watch for events like the Bibelot Reware event and the Powderhorn Park "Really, Really Free Market". Take advantage of these opportunities while MIMO is away and be on the lookout for upcoming MIMO events.

To stay informed join SECIA and the MIMO Neighborhood Free Store on facebook or email mimo@comogreenvillage.info with your questions. We will try to answer them to the best of our knowledge (unless they are about the meaning of life or the inner workings of the electoral college).

Again thank you to everyone who helped make MIMO a success.

Happy reusing!
