SECIA recieved official notice last week that we were among the winners for this year's Governor's Awards in the partnership category.  This comes from our work with local industy to set up stakeholder dialogues and ultimately reach Good Neighbor Agreements (see www.secomo.org for more info).  The most recent agreement has a short slide show presentation on the front of this website and was brokered in May of this year (2008) with Greatbatch Globe Tool.  The two previous agreements were with Ritrama, Inc, and Rock-Tenn Company, both of which reduced their emissions by over 92% over the course of the project.  We anticipate similar results once all the changes are implemented at Globe tool based on an analysis done by a MnTAP student intern whom we helped connect to Globe tool last year.

We are very excited about this news and are looking forward to the ceremony which will occur on Wednesday February 11 at the Air Water & Waste Conference hosted at Rivercentre in St. Paul. http://www.rivercentre.org/info/index.aspStay tuned for more details and an official press release.
