Student and Resident Free Store Returns for Second Year

The Pack & Give Back Student Free Store will be held at the University of Minnesota ReUse  Program warehouse once again this year. The free store is open to UMN students and residents
of participating neighborhoods.

On August 25th, we will open a free store for all U of M students to shop at before the start of the semester. Neighborhood residents may use the free store from August 31st to September 6th, having made a donation prior.

The University of Minnesota ReUse Program started “Pack & Give Back” in May of 2013, an initiative aimed at reducing waste generated by students moving at the beginning and end of each semester. A partnership with Bridging, which reuses household furniture, will help facilitate on- and off-campus pick-up routes for reusable items that might otherwise end up in landfills.

Students and residents of Marcy-Holmes, Como, Prospect Park and Cedar neighborhoods can drop off acceptable items at the UMN ReUse Program warehouse. See Pack & Give Back website for list of acceptable items.
