Come learn about a new community vegetable garden at Fairmount and 22nd Aves SE at a community meeting at Sporty's Pub (22nd Ave & Como Ave SE) on Tues., February 15th from 7-9 pm. This meeting is for both interested gardeners and any neighbor who just wants to learn more! Refreshments and appetizers provided by Student Liaisons. If you can’t make the meeting and have questions, contact the SECIA office, or email gardens@secomo.org.

Start some wintersown seeds for Como Corner Community Garden!

You can learn a new garden technique called “winter sowing” and help out Como Corner at the same time at this Saturday 2/19 workshop at 10 am at Van Cleve Park. To attend, RSVP to SECIA office or email gardens@secomo.org, and then start collecting plastic gallon milk jugs and clear-top plastic take-out/bakery containers. We will use these to sow seeds into, which you will then put out into your backyard until spring. The Como Green Blog will share more details on this method, so stay tuned. Yeah for gardening in February!
